Looking to buy an electric van?

buy an electric van - peugeot e-expert

Are you looking to reduce your carbon footprint and buy an electric van? Electric cars are a fantastic addition to the vehicle market, but not everyone will be able to make do with just a car. Electric vans are slowly becoming the new norm for most companies, and the Peugeot e-Expert is a classic example of technology at its finest.

Find out why you should be thinking about switching to an electric van, as well as the Peugeot e-Expert panel van for sale at EV Sales.

WHY SHOULD YOU SWITCH TO AN ELECTRIC VAN?

Most drivers think that swapping to an electric vehicle is only beneficial for the environment… WRONG!

Not only will it reduce the air pollution currently lurking around the world, but there are plenty of other benefits, including being great for your bank balance.

Benefit in Kind (BIK)

Benefit in Kind is a phrase that you may have heard being thrown around in the last year or so. In April 2020, it was a huge deal for anyone driving an electric car. The BIK tax on electric cars was dropped from around 17% to 0%, and the same thing is happening in 2021. If you’re thinking about switching to an electric van then 2021 is certainly the year to do it. Van drivers will now also benefit from 0% BIK tax if it is a company vehicle. A staggering amount of money can be saved!

Congestion Charge

Do you travel in and out of London for work purposes? This ones for you, so listen up. During the first lockdown in 2020, the London Congestion Charge (LCC) was slashed to £0 for all vehicles, however it has since been reinstated. Any vehicles that are not hybrid or pure electric will need to pay a charge. More news surfaced earlier this year when it was announced that in October 2021, only electric vehicles will benefit from paying no charges. Sorry hybrid vehicles, you will no longer be exempt!

Money saved on ‘fuel’

The money that drivers spend on fuel for an electric van is drastically cheaper than filling up with fuel from a conventional petrol station each week.  When you buy an electric van, it is a great idea to invest in a home or workplace charger at the same time. This will allow drivers to charge their vehicle whenever it is convenient for them. Most EV drivers tend to plug it in to charge whilst they work or even overnight while they sleep. Gone are the days of leaving the house earlier than you need to, just to fill up your van.

ELECTRIC VANS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

With a range of electric cars being rolled out by popular companies, it’s about time the electric van market expanded too. Let’s take a look at some popular choices of electric vans.

Vauxhall Vivaro-e

The Vauxhall Vivaro-e is based on its diesel counterpart, the Vauxhall Vivaro. If you regularly drive round in this particular Vauxhall van, swapping to the electric version will be no different. With a maximum load space of up to 2.8 metres, businesses will have plenty of space if they need to transport goods or materials.

The Vauxhall Vivaro-e comes with a 50 kWh battery as standard, however a larger 75kWh battery is available. Drivers can expect to charge up from 0% – 80% in a matter of 30 minutes. Vauxhall have produced the van with various options available.

Peugeot e-Expert

A newcomer to the electric van market, the Peugeot e-Expert van is available as a panel van or as a crew van. The sleek design of this electric van has been designed to meet the needs of all traders and businesses. Make use of its sliding side doors, a 7” large colour touchscreen, and a payload of up to 1,226kg. What more could you want from a work van?

100% electric, 100% efficiency is what you get when you buy an electric van from Peugeot.

We currently have a Peugeot e-Expert electric van for sale that is practically brand new. With only 35 miles on the clock, the electric van is in immaculate condition and ready to be put to use as a company van. It is also ideal for anyone simply looking for a vehicle with more storage space. Interested? Be sure to contact us and we can organise an appointment for you to view it.

Renault Kangoo

The Kangoo isn’t the first pure electric vehicle from Renault. After the very popular ZOE, it’s only right that they dip their toe into the electric van market too!

In comparison to the Peugeot and Vauxhall vans, the Renault Kangoo is a much smaller van. However as they say size doesn’t matter! Don’t let the size mislead you, the Kangoo cab and storage space is very deceiving. Drivers will benefit from carrying just over 600kg, also similar to its diesel counterpart.

The latest model provides drivers with up to 120 miles of range on a full charge. The 33kWh battery sure packs a punch, particularly for its size.

Most customers that buy an electric van never look back, especially if they choose one of the above electric vans. Take a step closer to a better and greener future today.
